I’m not a perfect person and I most certainly have never hinted at nor implied that I ever was. I guess that’s why it bothers me so much that other people do it. I’ve seen so much judgement and criticism in every aspect of socialization. I can’t understand why anyone would have the audacity to judge or shun people because of what they choose to do with his or her life. There are certain things that I blatantly detest or dislike, but if that’s what someone wants to partake in, it’s their choice. Who am I to tell someone that what they’re doing is wrong or goes against the “rules of God?” There’s a difference between personally disliking something because it’s not something you’d ever do and disliking something because of things you’ve been sponged to believe is incorrect over time. I personally enjoy using the brain God has given me to make my own decisions and to distinguish what’s right and what’s wrong for me, not what’s right or wrong for someone else. I believe that you should do anything you want to do that doesn’t harm any other person.

What sparked this for me is all of the political news reports, articles and debates people are having regarding the personal beliefs of politicians. Some Republicans are not pro choice. I’m pretty sure there were others who felt the same but didn’t act on it because they feel better knowing it’s something they wouldn’t personally do and anything a woman chooses doesn’t directly affect them, in any way. Everyone should have the right to make their own decisions. We do everyday. What really peeves me, are the religious debates. How is it that when people aren’t in agreeance with some issue, they immediately throw the Bible into their debates? How is it that they claim that God set these rules, yet, they pick and choose which ones they are to follow and when they do, compare their faults to that of others, as if their faulty choices are the lesser of two evils? How can a person choose to follow GOD GIVEN RULES of their choice, but put down other people for the decisions they make for their own lives? Surely, no one is perfect and I don’t ever expect anyone to be. But if religion is so important, there can never be a debate as to which “evil” is greater or more repulsive than other, especially knowing that each and every single one is just as bad as the other.

People have mistakenly made the assumption that I’m an atheist because I don’t identify with any religion. That’s just not truly because I absolutely believe in God. I just simply despise organized religion. I despise how quick religious people are to put down other people who don’t believe in the same things they do, or do things the same way they do. I’ve had people ask me how I can believe in God without a religion. That is the most insane question I’ve ever heard. Why do I need a religion to maintain a belief in God? Weird.

Whitney Houston was a great entertainer. Most of you have heard of her death. What bothers me the most about when celebrities die is the information the media chooses to discuss. Of course, we all know that quite a few celebrities have dealt with alcohol and drug use. That is also something that common people deal with also, but typically, that is something most people don’t hear about in the media. The media is really not concerned with those who aren’t in the spotlight, in my opinion. Whitney’s drug addiction was constantly being discussed at the time of her death. That bothers me a lot, as with other celebrities who have passed on.

What we have learned as a race is that it doesn’t matter what good someone contributes to the world, rather, we harp on the bad things surrounding their being. Personally, what Whitney did in her personal life isn’t any of my business. Not that I’m not genuinely concerned about the health and the well-being of humans as a whole, but drug and alcohol use are very serious issues. People live with them everyday and we don’t always understand the reasoning behind it or why they continue to indulge in their behaviors. Instead of judging people for their sicknesses, the media makes the decision to turn their deaths into juicy gossip or to remind people of their pains in their lives. It has always been a consistent thing with the media. It’s distasteful. It’s insane. It’s absurd and I’m sure it’s most definitely something people wouldn’t want to be remembered for.

I feel bad for her family, her fans (myself included) and herself. I wish her family the very best. May she rest in peace.

Have you ever started a rumor? Have you ever heard a rumor and continued to spread it? Have you ever exaggerated a rumor? I think we all pretty much have done this in our life time. But what bothers me the most about it is when people are old enough to understand the effect that rumors can have on other people, and themselves as well. I believe it’s very childish to spread rumors or start them, for that matter. Some people spread rumors out of mere jealousy. Others spread rumors believing that it’s the hottest news that can win them points for being in “the know.” Unfortunately, I have witnessed many rumor spreading expeditions for the first reason.

When accused of spreading a rumor, people often retort with, “why would I be jealous? I’m not jealous.” What I don’t understand is the need to feed people false information. I strongly dislike when people come to me talking about other people. It’s truly a pet peeve of mine. I almost never believe anything anyone has to say about another person. It’s better to just mind your business. Being caught up in someone else’s falsehood or drama is just not worth it. I tend to cut people off who fall into gossipy habits. It’s something that’s just not admirable.

Rumors are not only unnecessary, but they can really affect people in negative ways. I’ve personally always tried to avoid and ignore rumors because it doesn’t really make sense to me to care about what others have to say. But everyone doesn’t share the same view. Some people care about what other people think or say and for some people it can completely dissatisfy them. Not everyone is going to care how someone feels about the rumors they spread, and they’re selfish people. I truly hope that people who indulge in the rumor-spreading world grow out of such a nasty habit.

When I first started blogging, I really hadn’t an idea what I’d be blogging about. I would write about my graphic designing escapades, personal life and other pointless things. The truth is, I’ve always enjoyed writing. I have a passion for it. I’d always chosen to write about different matters on other sites where I felt that people would truly read what I had to say. I made this website my personal site, blogging about senseless things and rambling on about my life and the changes I was going through. I decided to share my personal life on more private websites such as livejournal. This website will serve as a portal into my inner and outer thoughts about matters of the heart and the world.

I have made it a personal duty not to force myself to remain committed to write simply because I have a website that needs to be updated. It will be much more than that. I will no longer hold my thoughts inside. Reader discretion is advised.
